This privacy notice discloses the privacy practices for the National Pension Education Association (NPEA) and our website www.npea.com. This privacy notice applies solely to information collected by this website, except where stated otherwise. It will notify you of the following:
What information we collect;
With whom it is shared;
How it can be corrected;
How it is secured;
How policy changes will be communicated; and
How to address concerns over misuse of personal data.
Information Collection, Use, and Sharing
We are the sole owners of the information collected on this site. We have access to and collect information on only what you voluntarily provide us through web forms, via email, or other direct contact from you. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.
The primary purpose of collecting information from our members is to provide a service, share industry information with our paid membership, and/or provide event registration. We will use your information to respond to you regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request, e.g., posting a question to your peers via the NPEA blog or registering you for the annual conference.
As a matter of course, anyone who completes an electronic form on the website is subscribed to our email marketing platform. Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about upcoming events, questions from your peers, or changes to this privacy policy.
Your Access to and Control Over Information
You may opt out of any future contacts from us at any time via email or unsubscribing from the email marketing system. You can do the following at any time by contacting us via the email address provided on our website:
See what data we have about you, if any.
Change/correct any data we have about you.
Have us delete any data we have about you.
Express any concern you have about our use of your data
Registration
In order to use the “Members Only” portion of the website, a user must register. During registration a user is required to give certain information (such as name and email address). This information provided only to staff of paid member systems is used to provide access to the member directory, member blog, past conference presentations and other protected content. NPEA will not request demographic information (such as gender or age).
Sharing
We do not collect or share aggregated demographic information with anyone.
And/or:
We use PayPal for users who request online payment for member dues and event registration. Consequently, we do not retain, share, store or use financial or sensitive personally identifiable information (PII) for any secondary purposes.
And/or:
We partner with a hotel for each annual conference. When a user registers for the conference, we will share name only and no other contact information necessary for the hotel to confirm the room block. The hotels are not allowed to use personally identifiable information except for the purpose of this confirmation process.
Security
We take precautions to protect your information by never requesting sensitive PII via the website to protect you both online and offline. Non-sensitive PII we collect and maintain is limited to contact information that is easily gathered from other public records. Member contact information is secured behind the Members Only section of the website limited to paid members granted access to those pages.
Cookies
We use “cookies” on this site. A cookie is a piece of data stored on a site visitor’s hard drive to help us improve your access to our site and identify repeat visitors to our site. For instance, when we use a cookie to identify you, you would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our site. Cookies can also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance their experience on our site. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information on our site.
