Members of NPEA consist of administrators, staff, and trustees of legally constituted national, state, or local government retirement systems.

Each system pays only one annual membership fee set by the NPEA Board, which is currently $600. Membership allows any number of staff to attend the annual conference by paying only the conference registration fee for each participant. Designated staff will be given online access to exclusive content for members only and receive the NPEA Options newsletter.
